Default Walbro 255 inline pump question

I have a 550 rear wheel horsepower motor and I'm considering building a fuel system for it. I'm wondering if a walbro 255 inline pump will be enough to supply it. I currently have a 255 and it's strong enough, but it's an intank. So I was wondering if the inline version will be enough to supply the motor. Thanks, Brian

The in-line only go to 45 psi and shut off, stay with the stock intank, walbro 340, it should be good to 500hp

you might want to check on that 500hp # I know for sure it will handle 550rwhp and more if it is a return style system with bigger rails.

My walbro 255 handled my 500+ on the stock fuel system no prob. Wouldnt want to go 600+ on that though.

The GSL 392 inline is slightly more powerfull than the GSS340 and will go a little higher on pressure. It will not cut off at 45PSI. There is not enough difference to justify changeing from the intank to the inline unless you are installing a fuel cell or need to go remote for some reason. If that is the case the inline will work about the same or slighly better

Yes, I'm building a race gas tank so I'm using an inline for it to supply the motor. So it sounds like I'll be alright with it for 550 rear wheel. Thanks for everyone's help.
