Default fuel filter question CARB or Fuel Injection

ok

sumped 98 tank

im running twin exturnal pumps....

and i would like to place a fliter before each pump...now the fuel will be coming out of my tabk into the filter and then into the pumps....

can i use the summit filters set up for carb cars cause the pressure wont be as high since its before the pumps...

just asking cause its a differnce of like 40 bucks

below is a visual of what exactly i am trying to achieve..

anyone know waht filters these are???

2 anyone know what the part number is for these an fittings they are
10mm to -8

I would say go with the efi filters. The suction pressure shouldn't be as high as the outlet side of the pump, but I bet its higher than the carb filters are rated at. Just my opinion.

I think I need to swap my fuel filter out. I just crossed the 100K mile mark and I think its about time.

Exclamation The short answer..

NO! The carb filters have far too fine a filtering media. IE:
10micron.
The prefilter micron rating should be NO less than 40.. Some pump mfgrs look at 70 to 100 as being OK.
The after pump filter[s] should be 10 micron, w/ enough flow capacity to handle the volume.
I use the Aeromotive, stainless cartridge filters as a pre-filter, and the paper elements after the pump.

The restriction that the carb filters cause, can/will create cavitation in the inlet of the pump.. That will do 2 things:
1.Destroy the pump.
2. Create enough vacuum to cause the fuel to boil.

I put a 12an fitting in the bottom of my tank and I have a aeromotive filter on there its the 100micron metal one in the back Im going to run 12an from the filter to the pump yet and after the pump its going to be 8 an I have a aeromotive 10micron filter for after the pump. Im still working out my set up.
