Draining Tank

Draining Tank Any tips for the best way to drain the gas tank? I need to remove about 10 gallons. I plan to remove the line at the fuel filter, slip a hose over the line and drain it into some gas containers. I presume I should leave the cap on to maintain pressure. Should I turn the ignition on to run the pump or just leave it off? Thanks for any advice.
I took a hypertech fuel pressure gauge, unscrewed it from the hose (leaving the hose). Screwed the hose onto the fuel rail (LS1 car) and put some wires on a switch and plugged them (I ground down a set of crimp connectors to make them fit into the terminals) into the fuel pump relay terminals. I stuck a battery charger on the battery and just flipped the switch and pumped the fuel out into fuel jugs. We didn't even have to lift the car off of the ground.
I actually had some success using a very small hose (3/8ths ish) into the fuel neck of my silverado once... I had to remove the filler neck actually, and put the hose in from where the filler tube connect to tank. I had a fuel line blow in tank and had a half tank left to siphon out before I could drop it easily lol.

PS: I hooked the hose up to a small drill driven pump. Be VERY careful not to use an electric drill lol, I cant stress this enough... Use an air powered drill to avoid death.
