Purolator Fuel filter

Purolator Fuel filter is it supposed to be an opaque black elongated, but saucer shaped filter?
I just wanna know if they gave me the right filter at Pep Boys. because Fuel filters I have seen, look like small air cleaners that the cotton/paper filter is visible. and this one isnt... Also does it flow well for a bolt on LS1 car? and if it doesnt is there a high performance fuel filter I can get?

I just changed mine...I put in a Napa Gold, doesnt really matter what brand although I woulda gone Delco if they had them. From you description it doesnt sound like he gave you the right filter... If you look under the car you can see what the filter is supposed to look like. Metal with a bolt on top and a spout at the bottom. No white filter shows, purely metal. You have to cut these open with tin snips to see the actual filter... Its not hard to change though just remember to take the gas cap off and bring some rags to mop up gas.
