Using a Voltmeter??

To see what the sending unit is sending to the fuel gauge. Anyone know what I'm talking about & how to do it?? I installed a new fuel pump & sending unit, but my fuel gauge stills stays on over full all the time. Any ideas???

Was it like that before you replaced the pump? If so I'd start with checking the grounds.
