long cranking??
long cranking?? so i have always wondered what causes older vehicles to take longer to crank. my truck is a 2000 with about 90k miles on it and within the last year my truck has to be cranked/turned over longer before it starts.
what causes this???
i was thinking something in the fuel system. like the system is bleeding down and you are having to re prime and redeliver the fuel to the rails, there for that is why it is taking longer to start cuz it is starving for fuel.
so what is the answer?

Pull the vacuum line off the pressure regulator on the fuel rail after it sits for a while and see if it has fuel in it. Lots of problems with the pr's on truck's especially in those year models. By 02 they had it taken care of for the most part.
