Default Ran into a couple of problems...

Hi all,

I tackled the install of my Racetronix kit into my '98 formula, used the trap door method. Everything went VERY smooth and it is definately a high quality kit. The first problem I ran into was that the return line that goes to into the filter sock was too large. The opening on the old sock was larger than the opening on the new sock, thus the return line will not fit back in. The sock fit onto the pump just fine, and I am wondering if it will be a problem to leave the return line not connected to the filter? My thoughts are that the fuel coming back out doesnt even really get filtered as it just goes through a small hole in the bottom of the plastic fitting. Any help on this?

My second problem came when I was trying to re-install the complete assembled pump unit back into the tank. No matter how I angle / wiggle / move the assembly, I cannot get it to fully seat into the tank. It seems as though the assembly is bottomoing out on the floor of the tank before it can make it into the plastic bucket that it sits in, any tips or tricks?

Thanks,

Nick

Default Well, New problem

Well, I got the other two issues all sorted out and everything is installed correctly and the assembly is back in the tank. Now, I have run into the problem of NO power to the pump. I have pulled the pump back out and double checked all the wiring, everything is A OK! When testing the wires at the top of the unit (after installing the PNP harness) I am getting NO power to the grey wire that should come on with the ignition. I also tried it with just the factory harness hooked back up and still no power to that wire. Everything else that should have power when the switch is on, does. Any ideas? Keep in mind that I do have the Engine / Trans out of the car right now, so some grounds are not hooked up, could this be causing the problem?

Thanks,

Nick
