Pump gas...
Pump gas... Ok, so here's what i'm wondering...to thos running pump gas, like me(pretty much stock motor right now) What grade are you running 87,19, or 91/93. I'm using 93, cause the manual "reccomends" it, but what kind of ill-effects have people running lower grades seen? I won't worry about saving .20 a gallon if it's definately worth it(which i'm guessing it is), but if the car will run the same on 87/89 I might switch down.

If you run a lower octane fuel, like less then 91, your knock sensor will probably pick up knock, your timing will get retarded and eventually you will be operating off of the low octane timing table in your car's VCM. All of this will cause lower fuel mileage and less power. Too much knock could overcome the knock sensor system and cause pinging that could damage your engine.
Always buy high octane fuel from a gas staion that sells a lot of it. The longer fuel is stored causes its octane to decrease.
