Default Speed Inc. Fuel Rail install ????

I am switching out my stock setup for the Speed Inc. rails. My question is this? are there any particular things I should be doing. Should I replace O rings stuff like that. My car has 57K on it and I doubt the stock setup has ever been off the manifold. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks

While you got the rail off you could put in some new o-rings to give you confidence that they are new, nothing worst than driving along thinking are you old parts holding up. For the cost of a few bucks put in some new ones. I got new o-ring with some new injectors I put in there.

The rails look good with some braided hose, the connectors will set you back a bit, the connectors one mine were a little over half the cost of the rails.

It may be worth checking you have all the required connectors, join it all to the new fuel rails before you take the stock set up off the car.

Beleow is a couple of photos of my setup. I added an extra host to go across the front, still got the one going across the back to.

Good luck, hope this helps.

BTW, if you're looking for hose ends and fittings, you really can't beat the pricing on Summit's brand.

Picked up O ring kit from GM dealer today. $13.00 can't afford not to replace the O rings for that price. Will replace them this weekend should be a snap. Got lots of different pics and ideas now.

Are there stock size, pre-cut and assembled braided steel lines that can be used for the fuel rail install? If so, where can these be bought?

thanks
Harry

The kit I got from Speed has all you need. You will have to cut the lines yourself.

Forgive my ignorance... do you not have to have a return line and regulator to set up a system like this?

Not at the rails, the return is done in or near the tank by the fuel pressure regulator.

I beleive eralier years did have a return at the rails.

I believe only the '97-'98 Vettes had the return line at the rail. The rest of the LS1s have the return way back the feed line near the filter. At the rail, the feed line also serves as the return.

The regulator is in the tank. No need for an external regulator.
