Putting a 97 motor in a 99 returnless
Putting a 97 motor in a 99 returnless Im putting a 97 ls1 in my 99 corvette the 97 motor has a return line and my car is setup for a returnless what do I need to make it work can I put my 99 fuel rail on the 97 motor? Are there any other changes between these years. I have the wiring and the pcm for the 97 because i know they are different but will the returnless fuel system work with the 97 pcm. TIA
No i was going to use the wiring harness and pcm out of the 97 and i just realized that it might not work the connections are all different do i have to use the 99 pcm will it work fine with the 97 motor.

Use your stock 99 PCM. The 97 and 99 LS1's are identical (except for the fuel systems). So use everything from your 99 you already have in place, and just swap your 99 rails on the 97 engine. Plus, the 99 computer will be cheaper to edit. There is something about the 97 PCM's that is different from the 98's and up. Don't know what exactly it is, but I know my tuner could not do 97 vettes because he would have had to buy the soft ware specifically for it.
