Default Help with fuel leak

1995 Formula...

So I found a hole in the fuel line. It's in the black plastic line that connects the sending unit tubes and the fuel rail. I will try to scan a diagram later on. Basically it goes like this:

Sending unit plastic lines -> quick connects -> black lines going vertically down from the tank -> quick connects -> steel fuel lines

Basically the dealer wants to sell me something called "hose assembly," GM part number 10251324, for $120, that includes those black plastic lines that I need. Except I don't need all the extra crap that comes in the hose assembly, just one little plastic tube...

My question is if anyone thinks I can fix this, if I can find just the tube that I need somewhere or if I can replace it with a rubber one maybe or if I should just shell out the $120 and buy the whole kit.

Thanks

I haven't personally had this problem, but if you can measure the outside diameter of the line and it is an american measurement, then maybe you can go to home depot in the plumbing section and get a compression fitting that will fit it. I guarantee that if you use a compression fitting that fits the hose, it will hold the pressure. My other idea is to cut the line and sleeve it with some high pressure line rubber fuel line and double clamp it on both ends. For the kind of money the dealer's charging, it would be worth the effort. Good Luck!

I actually called a local dealer and he referred me to an auto store where they make those lines. The guy knew exactly what I was talking about (nylon fuel connectors that connect the sending unit to the fuel rail) and said one line would probably cost $30 with all the clamps and connectors. Will see him Tuesday! On one hand that's good because that means I'll have a free weekend to do other things... on the other hand I really wanna fly my bird
