Walbro Fuel Pump Issues
Dear Mr. Leeper,
I have forwarded your message to T.I. Automotive, LLC. They manufacture the fuel pumps for fuel injected automotive applications.
T.I. Automotive and Walbro Engine Management used to be owned by the same parent company; however we have been totally separate companies for about a year. They continue to manufacture the fuel pumps for fuel injected automotive applications using the “Walbro” name.

I then googled T.I Automotive, and found several locations around the USA, that mfgr thier products. So far, I've not tracked down exactly where the pumps are made. Since this co is worldwide, they may be in China..[Who isn't??]
I sent Ms Swanson another email asking for a TI contact. We'll see what happens from here.
www.tiautomotive.com is the link. They have alot of "stuff" going on in the world.. Several sites here in GA.
Problem is that the car runs great until I get to about a 1/4 of a tank of gas and then the car will die at random. I might just be sitting at a light or crusing down the road and the car will die due to the pump. I can sit on the side of the road with the car off and then restart it after sitting for about 5 mins and then the car will run fine again for a little while longer (less than 5 min) and then it will die again. BUT if I got put more gas in my car the pump works flawlessly! So I am thinking overheating? It's got to be overheating because it only does it when there is a low amount of gas in the car which means the pump is recirculating the hot gas over and over again. But when there is a lot of gas in the car it's not recycling hot gas anymore as bad.
Any ideas on how I can fix this? I am thinking about removing the pump from the bucket to see if that helps. This is my SECOND fuel pump that has done this. I sent back my other walbro that I just got a month again and the company sent me a new one. I just installed this brand new one today and it's doing the same exact thing as the other one did.
I ended up changing the fuel filter that day and all the sudden the car is fine. However today (1 month later) dies again while exiting the freeway. Car has exactly 1/4 tank of fuel left and yes it is also has a Walbro in it roughly 1 yr old. I managed this time to get the car fired up and running long enough to get me to my brothers house where it would not restart. So after a few hours past I came back with my fuel pressure gauge to confirm it was a faulty pump and now all the sudden the car runs fine and i managed to get the car back to my house which was about another 15 minute drive or so. I should mention my psi reading at took at the fuel rail was 54psi, however i wish i had the gauge on me when the car sounded like it was starving for fuel. I did notice today when I attempted to restart the car after it initally quit on me i was getting a loud whine coming from the tank? I was experiencing the exact same problem a year ago.
After adding direct line from the battery and replacing the damaged pump, the problem was fixed. The car has been running perfect for over a year now.
I bought the wiring kit from Nasty Performance (he's a sponsor on this site). I think it was $70. It was super easy to install. The connectors were done correctly everything was cut to right length.
I posted up a link to my thread earlier.
Good luck!

Sounds like Walbro will be stepping up, and doing the right thing!
