Default Fuel Problems

So my car is not running right. It will start but when it does it will run really low rpm's and then sputter out and die when you try and give it gas. I hooked up a fuel pressure guage to the fuel rail and it reads ~ 10 psi when the pump is priming then immediatly bleeds down to nothing. If you try and prime it more than once you can build up some more pressure (~25psi or so) and then it will run right for a cupple seconds and then dip down to a 450 RPM or so idle. So it is not getting the fuel required to run properly, but my quesotion is why. The pump moves lots of fuel. I unhooked the guage and took out the schrader valve on the fuel rail and turned the key on, it dumped lots of fuel out, but it does not seem to build any pressure. So any help would be greatly apreciated.

Either the pump is just not pumping enough (very common) or the regulator has crapped out.

ahhh found my problem. The hose that goes from the pump to the tube on the top of the tank came off. Easy fix lol.
