connection for vacuum referenced regulator?

connection for vacuum referenced regulator? I have a 97/98 Vette fuel rail (return line style) and an aftermarket adjustable pressure regulator that has a vacuum reference port on my 01 Z28. If I pull vacuum on it, the fuel pressure drops. If I put pressure on it (boost), the fuel pressure will rise.
I’m wondering, where do I hook my vacuum line? Should it reference on the intake manifold side of the TB (back side) or should it reference on the MAF side (front side)?
Also, could someone explain WHY I need to reference from that point?

Re: connection for vacuum referenced regulator? reference it from the manifold side.. why.. because thats where the injectors are and you are trimming the fuel for them because of the intake pressures they are being suscepted(sp?) to.
