anyone messed with 'aviator' pumps i have an 03 cobra in my driveway for some work, owner says that is has two aviator pumps in the tank, which are 270lph each. i see some references to this on mustang boards, but no specific information.
i believe it is out of another model vehicle called an aviator, like a navigator??

I have used them also, but heard they cant be used in a normal(non ford) application because they are voltage controlled in a mustang instead of using a return/regulator. Alot of 03 cobra guys go to walbros when they switch to a return style fuel system.
The avaitor pumps are very inexpensive, and are a good upgrade from the 2003-4 cobra fuel pumps. (SVT Focus pumps are also an upgrade) They originally came in the 4 valve avaitors, not the 3 valve rebadged explorers.
These are for the enectronic returnless fuel systems, (PWM) so they are not designed for full time operation.

Just another option; Try to find a fuel pump out of a 93-98 Supra TwinTurbo. They flow 290lph or more when hotwired to 12v/14v. You pick them up with low miles for around $100 usually. They are made my Denso. Be sure to bet a Denso one, not a cheap aftermarket replacement.
