Yet another stock fuel pump question Right now I have 03 Cobra injectors in my 99, which Ford rates at 39 pounds at 39psi. Have anyone tested the limits of the stock pump? I have a h/c car that will be in the 420hp range (as a goal) and a 150 shot. As you know, fuel pressure drops from 58psi down to ... when you go WOT and start juicing, so my question is, how low a pressure have you ever seen? If I dropped fuel pressure down to 39psi, would it then supply enough flow? I'm trying to get around having to install a fuel pump in the Vette, as the only kit I've seen costs nearly 300 dollars.
If your gonna use the juice, your gonna need a pump. All the calculations the PCM uses to inject fuel are based on the fuel pressure being at or near 58 PSI. If the stock pump can't keep up and the pressure drops off while on the juice then you will obviously run lean.
