Default Questions about drilled out injectors. Help please.

I found a good deal on some injectors that were drilled out. They are 160# injectors. Brand is unknown. What are the pros/cons of using an injector like that? Will flow be affected? Performance? Any help/tips are appreciated.

Thanks
Andy

Dilled injectors = waste of money
Check the stickies for vendors that sell matched injectors that are
properly sized for your application.

Its not for my car. My buddy is building a fuel injected big block w/ a procharger. While browsing, I came across these injectors. Wondered if they were any good.

Interesting thread. Why exactly are drilled out injectors a waste? Would they dump too much fuel at idle? Harder to tune?

It depends on the exact defintion of drilled out. That could vary anywhere from a crude modification to a reflowed & calibrated set. Generally you should stay away from injectors that were not originally manufactured to a certain size.

If you are spending enough money to build a blown big block, it would be rather foolish to buy anything of either cheap or unknown quality.

1 lean cylinder generally means pulling & fixing the motor. Repairs are much more expensive than the potential savings of cheap injectors.

FYI 160# injectors will typically support well over 2000hp on gasoline, meaning they are likely way too large for all but the most extreme engines.

That response made the most sense. I will let my buddy know.
