LS7 fuel setup question
2-then another company says run from the pump to the fuel rails, then thru them to a bypass regulator, and then back to the tank. I am not sure why I even need a return. The ZO6 LS7 motor from the factory uses a dead head style system. What would be wrong with just running a regulator close to the fuel rails, setting the PSI at 58 to 60 there an let that work.
Flow-thru rails tend to heat the fuel in the tank more. Considering your street rod application will not have excessive underhood temps, any vapor lock will not be an issue.
If the engine was excessively modified, a flow-thru system will ensure that the regulator controls the lowest pressure that the rail sees, instead of the pressure entering the rail. The stock rails are capable of feeding the engine in mild to moderately modified form, so you should be fine.
