Question Kinked the fuel line!! Question

Using the Autozone scissor looking tool that everyone gets, I was able to get the 5/16 line off with ease. Unfortunately, I couldn't pull the 3/8 line off for the life of me! I see there are thread after thread of people having the same issue. So I'm going to try the other tool found at Autozone that someone here said they had luck with.

Worst of all, I kinked the line that I'm trying to pull off. The kink is only about 2-1/2" away from the hard metal line that connects to the fuel rail. My question is, is it possible to cut the line at that kinked spot and then slip it back on the metal portion since it's only a couple inches long?

Edit:
For those that ever struggle to get the fuel lines off with the 4-ended scissor style disconnect tool, use the tool at kragen that comes with a nice anondized color with just the 2 ends that scissor instead of the 4. I think it's because it fits inside better than the other tool. Took me literally a second to slip it off.

Bump. Can I cut the plastic hose at the kink and slip the hose back onto the metal fitting?

I would not cut the plastic line. You will get a leak with the high pressures these fuel systems run. They are like heat shrinked on from the factory.

Thanks fellas. I was thinking I'd get another thread without replies. I'm sure that the right call would either be to get a new one or go braided. I was trying to save money by going without braided but I guess it's time to do just that.

Braided is expensive, but you won't kink it like the plastic lines. I recently had an issue with kinking the rear plastic line that runs from the top of the tank down to the fuel filter...the whole line is getting replaced with a piece of braided hose. That plastic **** just doesn't hold up to taking it on and off with any sort of regularity...

Yup, I decided to go with braided lines and I'm over $200 for 2 lines at 80" apiece. Too bad they'll hardly be visible when they're installed. I'd rather get it done right the first time though.
