93 or high octane good or bad?
High octane fuel does not burn hotter than low octane fuel. The main differece is it burns a bit slower and more regulated. My 02 LS1 with below mods runs PERFECT with NO knock on 89 octane mid grade gas. So that's what I run. My wife however used to have a 96 Z28 that needed 91+ octane fuel to keep the knock away. I would run what ever your engine wants. Anything more is just wasting your money IMHO.

If you use too high of Octane on your engine tuned for 87-93, it wont run as good cause timing for a lower octane would only delay the burn of a higher octane gas and you would make less power and get worse gas mileage.
