Default Fuel system question!

I am going to do a racetronix pump and hotwire kit, and i was wondering if i should take the regulator out? I know that i would have to buy a new regulator for the car to run. I am trying to upgrade my fuel system to handle 550 or so with a 150 shot. The car makes 401 to the wheels right now. Could i leave the regulator in the tank until i have enough money to get a new feed and rails and regulator and disconnect it somehow without dropping the tank later? I have been reading and lot of people say the regulator in tank is a limiting factor in the fbody fuel system. I don't know a whole lot but i am trying to learn so i can do everything right the first time.

If you can afford to put a regulator up front then it would be a good idea. Before you do it would be best to contact support@racetronix.com for some pointers.

For everything that you are doing, a good, stable, deterministic fuel pressure regulator would seem to be in order. It will make WOT tuning much more predictable and remove one other variable from the system.

Now, since the real issue with the internal, tank regulator is the drop in pressure as the fuel flow through it drops, you could run it in series with the external regulator. However, from my standpoint, it's just better to get it out of there and never have to worry about it again.
