Bad coil pack
Bad coil pack Ok so I had started this thread about why my car has been acting really wierd lately. Its "my car is cursed" in the manual tras section because I thought it might have something to do with that. Well one guy said it sounded like a misfire and to take a wet rag to each primary on the header and if one doesnt make a steaming noise well thats the misfire. Well I changed my sparkplugs yesterday, I havent done #8 cuz i ran out of time and its a bitch. However it still was rough idle and everything. All of the spark plugs looked pretty shitty but #1 was by far worse then all of them. Well when I did the steam test on the primaries I could touch #1 with my hand and all the other ones steamed. So is it safe to say that I have a fucked up coil?
You need to put a new set of wires on there first. Your wires looked pretty shitty last night. We know it's getting fuel, maybe not at the right time but the injector is putting fuel in. So I would say do wires and then swap the coil over to another cylinder if it still isn't fixed.
They are stock coils. However, i found out that the #1 cyclinder is not firing. After i have been running the car for a while I can put my hand on the #1 cylinder primary and the only heat on it is what it has absorbed from the heads.
So I said screw it and took the car to the dealership and they ran all kinds of tests and **** and determined that I dont have a fuel problem, a firing problem, or a compression problem. WTF. Now they are doing phase 2 to find out what the problem is. I have no idea what this is gonna end up being.
