Default Injectors

I am getting my car tuned next weekend and the tuner wanted to know if I had different injectors or not. I said no and he told me that I should probably get some. I didn't think I would be making enough power to justify getting different injectors, so I never considered them. I'm on a bit of a budget at the moment- will getting bigger injectors net me any more power? Or will it just put less stress on the injectors? Sorry, I don't know much about this subject. All mods are in sig and I also have a FAST 92/92 setup.

hhhhmmmmm.... the stockers are 28.8lb... you might be pushing it with your head and cam... idk tho. could be close.

but yes you may gain some if you are close to maxing them out.

you don't really want to go past 85% duty cycle. just get on the dyno and have your tuner start tuning and dynoing... if they exceed 85% duty cycle in the log on the dyno or on the street after the dyno then get new ones.

if ya need anymore help let me know, I'm knowledgable about injectors. got several spreadsheets

Didn't 2000's get the smaller injectors?

Either way, you will be pushing those injectors hard. You should be 440-450rwhp with that setup. Honestly, I'd go and buy some 36# or 42# injectors (I'd go 42 over 36 just for future upgrades).

i would just get some 42#ers as Duron said, it gives you plenty of room and they will work fine. i'm running them

2000 has 26#ers, not 28s, and yes, with H/C they will be running short.

Im not thinking my power output will be quite that high, but I wouldn't complain if it was If I got a decent deal on some SVO 30#'s, would that be an okay choice? I was told that they are actually more like 36#'s with the fuel pressure on our cars. Is that right?

Eh, the 4.10s will suck up a little bit, so maybe not. But really, you should be close to that if those 241's have a good port on them. I made 420rwhp/400rwtq with a 224/228 .641/.646 110LSA and stage 2 ported 5.3 heads with an LS6 intake. I figured it'd have been close to 440-450rwhp with the cutout open and a FAST90....you've got a FAST92, true duals, and a bigger cam.

30#'s will more than likely work, but you'll be at about their limits (that's what I was using). If you get a STEAL on some 30#'s, go for it, but otherwise, look for a set of 42's. They'll let you run minor boost or a pretty decent dry shot down the road whereas the 30's or 36's won't.

Okay, well I bought a set of SVO 30# red tops. I want to go ahead and replace the o-rings on them- should I just go to the part store and give them the p/n on the injector? Obviously, they are used, should I worry about cleaning them or anything before I install them?

I'm researching injectors myself right now... with my setup, i'm guessing going with 42#'s would be the right choice... now, to find the best injector out there for my application...

btw... i'm running stockers right now and don't seem to be having any issues... besides the smell of gas when i'm stopped and idleing lol... but I have a nice safe conservative "rich" tune so that's expected...

Really...446 RWHP on stock injectors? I was worried about running my stock ones at the track on a cool day with some "ram air" effect going on. Should I not be worried?

regardless of what injector you find. you need to get flow matched ones, or if you cannot, THEN order whatever ones you want, then send them to RCENG for balancing and testing. As a person posted up before, it si a little $$$ but to go from within 5% of each other to 0.7% of each other is freaking sweet

well... my builder/tuner said i'm maxing them out pretty good right now... and if I am to do anymore mods, injectors should be the #1 on that list...

I've been trying to contact my tuner for a couple of weeks, but I went to Wheel to Wheel Powertrain's website and it diverts me to Motor City Speed. It is my understanding that W2W closed recently...that sucks...I had no other contact info for my tuner there. This is shocking that they closed. They were the #1 GM performance shop in the Detroit area. They have done alot of great work for the automakers, celebrities, and "Joe Blow" like you and me. Hell, I even googled my tuner...but no contact info!
