Default A1000 is Submersible?

I just read an article that claims the A1000 can be submersed in the tank - it's actually preferred that way to keep the noise and heat level down.

Has anyone ever tried this?

I've always mounted mine beneath my fuel source to maintain a constant flow. How would that work if you mounted it within your tank or cell? I've heard that the A1000 won't last if it actually has to suck the fuel in the inlet.

Interesting

It would be better with those pumps. They have a problem with overheating. But if you mount it in the tank I would put a fuel cooler inline with the main lines.

I seen pics online a few years ago, where a guy fitted an A1000 in-tank in his RX-7.

Bloody huge pump to be mounting internally though.

All Aeromotive inline pumps can be mounted inside the tank. The pumps don't over heat it's the fuel getting hot. An A1000 puts about 2gpm through a hot fuel rail and engine bay and returns it back to the tank. So every 7.5 minutes you are putting 15 gallons through there. After a long drive the fuel is heated from the rails and engine and not the pump. Hope this puts some light on it for you guys.
