Default Fuel Pump or FPR?

I did a search and found some good info so I know I have a fuel problem now but I dont know what that problem is.

I have recently finished a custom rear mount build and put in a walbro 255 in the process I have 65lb/hr injectors that I am NOT running yet but I was putting some test miles on the new setup before I went to get it tuned and on the way home I was getting a little low on gas, well I did a California stop at an intersection and when I was rolling away in second gear (1/8th throttle) I noticed a sputter and and it was on and off for about a 1/2 mile to my house (had been driving the car problem free for about 3 hrs) got home cut the car off .. wont crank back .. acted out of gas so I went and got some. Got a half tank now fuel pump comes on when I turn the key over, got a fuel pressure gauge today and I see 10psi on the rail when turning the key over and about 16 when trying to crank. What should I check replace first (I still have my old pump and I used the access door method)

Could be a bad pump, a leaking hose, or improper install.
I hope you bought a good kit with factory style flex hoses & a venturi setup.

Does it hold pressure with the key off, or does it drop quickly?
This can determine if it is a leak.

It is rarely the regulator unless you got dirt in the line putting it back together.

Thanks for the info, I did not use the factory style flex hose I used fuel injection grade hose and clamps, basically followed the install I found on here somewhere if I did something wrong I would love to know before I put another one in. I am going to take the pump out tomorrow and inspect the lines and wiring to ensure that it is all still connected, anything I need to check while im in there to be sure of the problem?

Also doing the trap door method you could have gotten crap in the pump being that low on fuel. As it is impossible to clean all the junk from the stations out of the tank with it still in the car.

I checked today and called they guy that was helping me (actually holding the fuel pressure gauge) and found out that it wont hold pressure at all .. while turning over it will get up to about 16 psi but will bleed all the way back to about 6 by the time I can get from the drivers seat to the front of the car to look at the gauge. I will take it apart Wed. is there anything in particular I should be looking for ... also can I put my old stock pump in like shown in the instructions for the Walbro here: http://www.gonicd.com/intankinstall/...mpinstall.html to check and see if I get adequate pressure?

Hose blew off the pump is my guess. I have had it happen a bunch of times with duel in-tank pumps, one on a boost switch. Same thing 10-20psi cause they didnt blow all the way off. I tried a bunch of hoses from stock, rubber, steelbraid, and proclassic. Got tired of it and got a Magnafuel 650tuner external pump. I think I just had bad luck the stock style hose held the longest.
