Default Fuel System layout...Need opinions

Ok guys, I need you to check out this diagram I made and see if you can think of anything that is missing. Do you think the way I have it going into the stock send/return lines will be ok?

I have a 10AN fuel filter from ls1speed, but I've decided to use a 8AN feed line so I have the 10AN to 8AN reducer in there. Let me know if that looks correct. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the fuel rails are the rails from ls1speed.com.

I don't think that is the best way to do it.it is better to yof the feed line to both rails then 2 line out to the regulater. Because the last injecter gets the lest fuel.

It's the stock layout and there is enough fuel to go around. True, I could do a Y in the back to the rails but I wan't to keep the compartment somewhat clean.

alot of guys do it that way (with out the Y)

for the fuel filter, cant you just replace the An fittings to an *an, mine came with an 8an.

you might be able to save some money by using your old feed line as a return. that is what im doing.

what is the point of going to an 8an, if before that it passes through a 6an hose/barb? restriction.

are you using a single walbro then?

I would also use a "Y" to split the -8 into each rail, and then individual lines ut of the rails into the regulator. To save some money, you can use the stock supply line as your return line. Worked just fine for me.

Do you have to remove the stock pump when you use the stock feed line as a return line?

I had my tank sumped when I was having some work done on the car and am getting ready to install the rest of my fuel system, but the stock pump is still in the tank.

Can I push through the stock pump when using the stock feed as the return, or should I drop the tank again and pull it out? If I am going to go to all of that trouble then I would probably be better off just doing it the right way....

I was using an external pump, so using the factory feed line was no issue.

I will be using twin Walbro externals, but I am thinking that I will probably need to get rid of the intank pump to use the feed as a return line. Anyone?

ya get rid of the pump, and put a hose on the connector to drain back into the tank. alot of pumps have check valves on them so it would be a problem if you wanted to push through the wrong way of the pump.

mine is 'crossover style' too. as long as your regulator is after all the injectors, the configuration really doesnt matter until your pump cannot supply the adequate flow. and then that is the pumps fault not the rails or feed style.

02blue, that setup is nice and all but it will only flow as good as its weakest link, which would be the stock pressure port comming out of the tank that you plan to re-use. sure you can run it that way but you wont be able to flow any more fuel than you could with all stock stuff.

also you should be able to return that filter to speed for a swap with a -8 ended one without a problem.

scott yea you wont be returning anything long as the in tank pump is in the way.

heres my layout in case anyone hasn't seen
