Default Need help with Fuel Pump situation...Please!!

Hey, I have an '01 Z28 that I just put heads/cam/headers on. My mechanic had to set the rev limiter around 6K because he said I was "running out of fuel". Says I need an upgraded fuel pump or a Boost-a-Pump to get the fuel I need to my engine at the higher RPM's. I put in a small 222/224 comp cam, that wants to rev up to 6800 RPM's or so. I will also need better injectors to work with the new fuel pump I suppose. Any suggestions for me? Brands, flow numbers, prices, packages???

All help is greatly appreciated as I know very little regarding the fuel system. Thanks all!!

-Matt

interesting you would be running out of fuel with that kind of a setup on the stock pump. I doubt you would need to go with larger injectors either, since the 01's have 28.8lb injectors which should be fine. Assuming you do need a pump, I would go with a good stock replacement in-tank setup like the racetronix, which I have had very good luck with so far. Injectors, well now I doubt you need more injector.

Thanks for the response. My stock fuel pump may just be old and on the fritz. I have around 80K on this fuel pump, so maybe its just an old age issue more than due to my mods. So I should be good with the stock injectors? Also, I was looking at the racetronix fuel pumps, but noticed they are only for plastic fuel tanks? This may be stupid, but do I have a plastic fuel tank?

Thanks for the input everyone.

I am close to the 400RWHP mark with the A/F ratio beginning to run lean around 5K+ RPM's. With the 255LPH fuel pump, I should be able to get my top end horses up...maybe 415-425 RWHP range.
