Default Fuel PSI Issue

I have my car at a very capable Tuner who is a sponser here. He is currently tuning my setup which consists of the following:

8AN feed from a Magnafueler pump capable of supporting 1000hp NA and 800 hp FI. I'm running boost referenced Aeromotive fuel PSI regulator, utilizing factory 6AN for return.

The Problem:

At around 5400rpm the car falls on her face. Fuel PSI drops to, or drops 25 PSI. My fuel PSI regulator is mounted behind the drivers headlight. I have single 8AN feed to 1 rail, looped at the back, out the other rail to the PSI regulator. All lines appear good, no kinks etc.

Any idea why this would happen? Faulty regulator?

Any help appreciated.

Sounds very similar to my current problem... Except I have dual in-tank walbros... I tried switching my Aeromotive regulator with a magnafuel and that did not solve my problem, so I don't think its the regulator (at least in my case anyways).

Without the pump part #, I cannot say, but a sudden drop is odd, it should fall gradually if it is a pump capacity issue.

How is your fuel pickup installed in the tank & what size?
I have good luck with Magnafuel regulators, so that should not be your problem.
What size injectors & how much power?

Chad,
Is the dual pump one of my setups? If so call me.... mine will support a good 400hp more than you are making. What lines are youy using? What wiring?

Let me know, I'll try to help.

What kind of boost are you making @ 5400? Injectors?

With a F1 pullied up, you may be at the limits of the 4301 pump, i use a 4303 pump on anything over 700hp. Hell i have a caddilac here with 810hp and it has a 4303 pump , the customer does not mind the pump.

Sorry, I don't mean to hijack the thread here. But no, I do not have one of your kits Lonnie.

Here is my thread about my problem. Feel free to jump in and put your input into it. I would appreciate your thoughts on my setup.

Making about 14lbs @ 5400RPM. My regulator is Aeromotive, my injectors are RC Eng 72#, my fuel pump is the Magnfueler 4301, my fuel tank is a Nasty Performance tank, the fuel pump mounts on the outside, I have 10AN from the tank to the pump. I should easily have 800RWHP... by my calculations, but if I knew what I was doing it wouldn't be at the Tuners'

At 14psi F1 is capable of alot of power on that setup you may just be maxing out the pump and injectors together kinda combination of the 2. I would rec. stepping to the 4303 pump and an injector driver(or Big Stuff) and 96# injectors. I also try and feed the pump with as big of line as possible we use -12 in our kits and with that much pump feed to the rails with -10 and a -8 return line.

Nate,

I bought the setup from you. I told you what I was building and asked for a system to support 800RWHP, infact I bought 2 setups, 1 was sent with a Weldon 600A, the second came with the Magnafueler. I am 10AN to the pump from the tank, 8an to the rails, 6an return. I've seen many similar setups and all worked well... I'm just the "bad luck boy". I hope the Tuner can find out exactly what is going on. I would think that my injectors are plenty big, and the 4301 big enough to support 800rwhp..... I guess I'll find out soon enough. Nate if you have any other suggestions that I am not thinking about, please PM me and give me some knowledge. I appreciate everyones' help and opinions.

We just made 850rwhp on a twin turbo C5, with those RC's , im betting the DC was getting up there, but it was 1:1 with about 17psi.

Your setup is for 800rwhp but your motor setup is capable of quite a bit more than that and that may be where you are running into problems. We run our race car 402 F1A on the same exact fuel setup as yours and it made just under 800rwhp (thanks to Jake and crew) We plan to up the boost and will be upgrading the fuel system.

Nate,

In your opinion all I should have to do is go to a 4303?

Mark what are you worried about, it does not have to run in order to sit in your static display. Your logo should read
