Fuel Pump Upgrade
Fuel Pump Upgrade Hey I am looking to upgrade my fuel pump to handle a larger Nitrous shot (125+ RWHP shot on a cammed 2006 GTO LS2). My question is what pump is reliable, quiet, and will handle 550+ RWHP? I have heard that the Walbro is loud and some refer to it as "Whinebro". I prefer intank suggestions but will also consider inline pumps. Thanks for anything you have to add.
Just wondering, but have you ever thought about a stand alone unit? That way it would only be on when you are spraying and you could put race fuel in it so that you don't have to put it in your gas tank. They make some pretty nice ones that can fit where your battery goes if you move it to the back..
It would depend on your plans for the car of course... If you're going to go heads/cam, or fi later then you might want to go ahead and upgrade the pump, or throw two in there... but if I was happy with the car and just wanted to stick to spray and changing jets, I'd probably look long and hard at the stand alones in stead of dropping the tank and fooling with somethign that isn't broke and does fine for other driving situations.. just my .02
