gas guage problems.

gas guage problems. i have a 1995 pontiac firbird and my gas gauge reads full for a long time. then drops strait to a half. and then goes down somewhat normal. but every once in a while it will jump around. when i fill it up the littlest bit it will jump all the way to full and then slowly come back down. ive done some research and found that this is prett common but would like to fix it because it drives me crazy. can anyone think of anything it could be besides the fuel pump/ sending unit. any advice would be helpful.
I had the same problem today. I have a 94 Camaro. This should be in LT1 section, but Id thought Id add it here instead.
Was driving home and my gas needle is about 1/3 full. Then the needle shoots straight to full then drops back down, shoots up halfway, then back down. And acts normal again. It did it like 3-4 times. If I remember correctly, I believe it did it a few months back but I didn't think anything of it since it didn't do it again.
I'm going to take a guess and think its the fuel sensor? I have a bunch of sensors all going bad at the same time, was going to go and replace them all. The car has reached that time of its life it starts to need new ****, has 89K miles on it. My vehicle speed sensor and radiator coolant level have been fucked up lately too, haven't done it in a few weeks since it was at the shop for some ignition work which I didn't feel like doing. Which is kind of odd, because I don't believe they changed the sensors, if they did they didn't tell me but I think that's unlikely.
