Keep overheating my fuel pump

About a month ago on a trip to CA I overheated my pump going across the desert. Overheated the pump like 4 times. I havent had any probs in town but the other day I did it again doing some earns around town...luckily it happen right when I pulled in my driveway. Its gota be from my cut out...anyway having issues with there pump keep getting over heated. Once it gets to hot the press drops to 30 or so then just keeps droping from there untill the car just dies. Ive never had this prob in TX with my cut out open but it gets pretty damn hot here in Tucson....thing is I only had the car on maybe 45 min, I didnt think it would get that damn hot so quick.

If it is an intank pump you should never have an overheating problem, unless you used a generic aftermarket pump & drilled the bucket.

Retaining the factory venturi function without drilling holes in the bucket will eliminate this problem. I have the Racetronix kits in stock if you need one.

Hi, Are you shure it's the pump & not the fuel pump relays contacs are getting burnt? Dave

hmm, where are the relays located?

I hope I didnt get a generic pump, I got a Walbro 255 from TSP.

I have been having problems with that pump. I have put two of them in in the last six months. Once I did it myself the second time I had a shop put it in. Same problem both times about it starting to whine and then no fuel pressure.
