Default LS1 Running Rich...HELP!

I have a 2000 LS1 in a 69 Camaro and have driven it about a 1000 miles. It seems to be running very rich. Should I take it to a GM dealer and have it hooked up to their computer and their sniffer in the exhaust to determine what is the current air/fuel mixture for a baseline? My next question is how do I go about adjusting the fuel mixture? I know there is software available. I live in Charlotte, NC is there anyone out there with the software that would look at my car as I would pay for this service. One other question, I have a little exhaust leak on the right side connecter of my S&P headers (somewhat disappointed on this set up)....would this be causing the computer to enrichen the fuel mixture? Please advise and thanks in advance for you input on my questions!

Hi, Guessing. Coolant temp sensor ok? When cold, it's in open loop, more fuel added. Gets warmed up, goes to closed loop. EGR, O2's, engine management from the sensors give info to the ECM. Not done on open loop. Guessing on this. -> Other thing is the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail. Vacume line to it. The internal diaphram gets a leak, your drawing raw gas into the intake. Take the vacume line off, see fuel present. Bad diaphram. Dave

Hey Locodave.....thanks for this info on my problem. John @ Speartech, who modified my computer mentioned an exhaust leak might be part of the problem. I have a minor one at the header collector flange which is 6-8" behind the O2 sensor....what's you thoughts of this possibility?
