Default Regulator question

I have a aeromotive A1000 fuel injected bypass regulator. What I whant to know is if you hook up the vacum port to a vacum on a NA/N2o enging I was told by a freind that you only hook up the vacum on Forced induction application.

I left my regulator vented to atmosphere (N/A application). I wanted steady fuel pressure regardless of manifold pressure.
