Default Double Checking

decided im going to start a build
goals are high 6's to the ground threw a boosted 383

now i did use the RC Fuel Injection calc. and this is what i got

Desired crank hp 725

number of same sized injectors 8

brake spec. fuel consumption .625 (being tis turbo and to be safe i went in the middle)

max duty cycle .8

fuel sys. PSI @ rails 45 *i did some serching and thats what a stock lt1 came out with so i thought i would just use that*

with this it gave me 66.83 LBS/Hr or 702CC/Min

should of i hiked up the rail PSI? or will the stock PSI work fine for what im going after? after seeing mightyquicks build with an almost totaly stock fuel system i was thinking that my racetronixs pump/hotwire kit with an added boost a pump should be able to do this fine threw the stock F.P.R. please tell me if im way out there.

and 60's should work for me, correct?

The 60's will be a little small for upper 600rwhp levels unless you boost the pressure to a higher base (say 58#) & also boost reference (which the stock LT1 regulator will not do).

Upper 600's for RWHP will equate closer to 800 flywheel.

Before you buy a boost-a-pump, you may want to consider the dual intank setups that I produce to feed your car, the cost works out close to a single kit plus BAP, & it will give you more reserve capacity for future increases.

Feel free to give me a call if you want to discuss this in more detail.
I can be reached at (724)322-8505.

will do next weekend.
so the racetronixs kit with a nice B.A.P will not work?
would i have to up the stock PSI AND get a boost reg fuel pres. reg.? or would a boost ref unti do it all in one?

A BAP may get you by, but it is not the best method to get your required fuel.
I prefer to be safe on fuel systems as lean mixtures kill parts very quickly under boost.

You will likely need to increase pressure as even with boost referencing & 43psi base, you may run out of injector before 650rwhp.

so what would you recamend?

twin intakes, boost ref. fuel PSI reg., bumping up base fuel PSI and larger then 60# injectors?

wont all this make the car a very large pig out of boost and for just driving around from a-b?

I do these all the time...

60's at elevated fuel pressure on a 383 should be no problem for a good tuner.

The Dual pump kit & boost reference will be perfect for a daily driver as you only supply additional fuel on demand.

No,
You could upgrade lines etc., but at your desired power level, you can get a boost referenced stock replacement regulator & run stock lines with my pump setup.

A hobbs switch is a boost activated switch. It turns the second pump on under boost.

Lonnie is great to deal with on his custom twin in-tanks for the LT1. I just sent him a brand new GM intank that he will upgrade for the twin in-tank setup. When are you going to post the pics of your setup. I've asked you to post pics at-least 3 times and you still have not done anything. There are alot of LT1 guys that want to see a good photo-shoot of the OFI kit on a LT1 ! Stop being lazy and post the pics
