Runs on alcohol?
Runs on alcohol? Got a friend that called me tonight and asked about alcohol fuel. He bought a race car that has a 355 Chevy and has no carb or distributor. i told him that I haven't messed w/ alcohol fuel cars but knew they are modified to run on alcohol. Do you still have to put a specific "alky" carb or can you just slap a Holley on it? I figure he could slap a Holley on it and run race fuel.
The carb is typically modified to alter the idle circuits, power valve metering, boosters, emulsion tubes & many other items.
For E85 you may be able to tweak a stock carb & get by, but for methanol, you better plan on getting a specific carb for that usage.
