Stock Fuel Pump Problems The problem is that my car tends to try and die on me when I am coming to stop. It actually did die on me about a week ago after I had been playing with my new converter from a dead stop. I am coming to the conclusion that it may be the fuel pump because I have a brand new battery, brand new plugs and wires, and an eight month old ac delco alternator.
Also is the stock pump in the tank or not. Would it be a pain in the butt for me to change the pump myself or is this something that I need a mechanic to do. Any comments or thoughts would be appreciative.

Newest mod: TCI 3000 lockup converter

Re: Stock Fuel Pump Problems I would ATAP the car, and hook a fuel pressure gauge to the shrader valve on the fuel rail. It very well could be your pump crapping out. However, before you undertake the "fun" job of pulling your tank and replacing the pump make sure you dont have another problem.
If you dont have ATAP, find someone in Alabama that does. If you have a laptop computer, and a few hundrend bucks get your own ATAP. You will need it if you plan on doing alot of upgrades.
