Fuel Problem Maybe?

Fuel Problem Maybe? Ok heres the deal.....All around driving to work and school the car does great no ploblems what so ever. But lets say I was to do a 20 punch or 50 punch....The car pulls like it is suppose to, but then all the sudden around 4,000 RPM its like it falls or its not getting enough fuel to keep pulling hard and barely climbs the tach....Sometimes it wont even shift if I stay in it....Its like its not gettin any fuel to continue the pull after roughly about 4,000 RPM's. Does anybody please have any info maybe on this....Fuel Pump? Fuel pressure sensor? anything?
P.S. It does have a tune and I found out that my mom has been driving it and putting regular unleaded it it....87 octane if that has to do with the problem any?
