Is this a good 10 bolt setup? Haha yes 10 bolt! I have the chance to buy a 10 bolt case with slp 3.73 gear with an eaton posi. it is off a T/A with 6k on it. it also has the crush sleave shims on it (something about the pinion gear walks on the ring gear under stress). it is assembled with every thing but the axles and brakes. My goal for the car is 550 rwhp and i think this axle can take it. what do you guys think?
If you can get it inexspensively,it would be a acceleration performance upgrade for your A4 until you reach(or before then) your power goals of 550hp,at which time an upgrade to 12 bolt or 9" should occur.
I searched for a long time about what to do to make a 10 bolt hold the 420rwhp I had planned and found that its a total waste of time. Save for a 9", personally I wouldnt even consider a 12 bolt only because of all the problems and noise I hear about, not to say that there arent any quiet ones out there but I feel the 9" is a more well proven performer.
