Default differential leak

Okay, I thought I already posted this but can't find it. There is a leak coming from a plastic valve of some sort on the passenger side of the differential. I'm not sure what this piece is and its function. Can it be replaced? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh this is on a stock gm rear axle from a 2000 transam.

That is the axle vent and all you can do is maybe raise it up higher with a piece of vacume hose. If you remove and plug the hole you will have the rest of the seals start to leak.

Do not plug it..I actually reamed mine out with a very small drill bit and with the new found venting ability no more leak.
