Default 12 bolt question

i did a search and did not find anything, but maybe i just didnt search for the correct thing. if anyone knows a link or actually can answer my question i would appreciate it, but i have a 72 camaro 12 bolt, and i know this will not work in my 01 ws6, but a guy told me he needs my rear and will trade his out of his 82 firebird, would a 12 bolt from a 82 firebird fit my 01 ws6?

I think 82 is a second get still so no. a 3rd gen would bolt in but would be narrower than your stock rear in your 01.

yea it will work but you will also need 3rd gen wheels or others in similar backspacing.

i would say no cause you will not be able to use either of your sets of wheels.
