Default which gears...

...have you guys had the best luck with not breaking? i want a set of 4.10's for my stock t/a. my car only has 57k miles on it so i'm not going internal any time soon and making huge power so i dont see the need for a 9" yet. i was just wondering which brand seems to hold up the best. should i get a new posi while i'm in there? or just the gears?

I wouldn't waste money on a new posi...if you want some gears, just pick a brand and go for it.

They are all equal really, it's the small size that is the reason for breaking. Especially with a 6spd, just start stashing some money under your pillow for the new rearend.

i think i'm going with richmond. What else is required for the install? i know cover gasket, pinion seal, crush sleeve, pinion shims, pinion nut.. are new ring gear bolts required or recommended? how about carrier shims and bearings and pinion bearing?

For the cover gasket, just use RTV. Usually the install kits will come with near gear bolts. You can use them or not. I didn't. I went with a solid spacer instead of a crush sleeve.

You can buy the full install kits here... with all bearings and everything needed.
