As for the carrier being too wore to get a good pattern it really has no parts to wear out besides the damn bolt holes where the ring gear attaches. Hell even a busted posi unit will install and be able to make good tooth pattern. As for used gears not being able to be setup properly that is bullshit too you just have to install a little tight to make up for wear that has already occurred on the face of the teeth. Once again I call bullshit and say burn this shop owner he is just taking you for a ride

Ratio doesn't make a difference in setup still requires a good pattern and a set amount of backlash to perform as expected regardless of it being a 2.73 or a 5.88

Sounds like you got bent over. $1400.00 and you supplied the parts? Took 4 weeks? Noisey Differential?

This job takes literally 3-4 hours to complete. If you drive in and drive out with all new parts including axle shafts you are about that price! Something is definatley wrong with this picture.

That makes no sense. Be there when he opens it and take pictures of the pattern. Get the specs it is specifically set to.

This really pisses me off because one time i took my 93 to a guy to have the tranny rebuilt and gave him 900 bucks and when i got it back the damn tranny still slipped. lol Im its ok tho when i get my hands on some dynamite i will even the score.
