Midwest fabbed 9" install...
It's also somewhat hard to hear anything over the blower and 4L80E, so it will take some driving and listening to start noticing anything.
So far so good though !

ABS and TCS work great. No errors, problems or codes.
No more vibration through speeds/RPMs with this new setup than I had with the 10-bolt and Spohn tunnel mount torque arm.
Everything came together great, no problems at all.
I followed the recommended breakin procedure, 5 x 15 min easy slow drives with no getting on it or highway speeds, with 2+ hours of cooldown after each. I used Coastal 80-90 for the breakin, and am about to drain and refill with Mobil1 synthetic 75-90.
So far almost no whine, if I roll up both windows and turn off the stereo and hold my breath, I can hear a slight whine at decel. It's more noticeable towards the end of the breakin drives, when things are warmed up. If I roll down the window a crack (or have both windows down like usual) I can't hear anything over the blower and '80E.
I haven't really gotten on it yet at all, just a couple of little throttle blips but it feels solid - now that it's broken in once I change the fluid I will do more throttle-heavy testing.

30th....let me know if you experiance the same after you've put some miles on yours.
The Mobil1 synthetic 75-90 is visibly less "thick" than the 80-90 standard gear oil I used for breakin, and I can hear a little more whine at decel than before the fluid change. I've picked up 4 qts. of Valvoline 80-90 non-synthetic gear oil and will be giving that a whirl to see if it makes a difference.
The whine isn't a LOT louder, but seeing how "watery" the Mobil1 synthetic was made me kinda nervous...
I've probably got about 250 or so miles on the new rear now including break-in miles, so far so good ! I got on it a little yesterday and everything felt solid. More testing today if it's not raining...

I drained and refilled with Valvoline 80-90 non-synthetic, just for my own peace of mind. The decel whine did quiet down a little, and things seem a little more "smooth". Still almost not even noticeable unless the windows are up and stereo is off.
So far so good with the new fluid...
Although, while I was down changing the fluid I noticed something kind of odd.
With the suspension loaded (tires on ramps) my swaybar endlinks are not straight up and down - they are tilted slightly with the bottoms forward a little from center. Also, although the tires are now equal distances inside the wheelwell (by shortening my BMR adj panhard as short as it would go) the springs now appear to tilt slighly to the driver side from their perches, and lastly (probably the most concerning) there's only about one finger of distance in between the shock and the swaybar on the driver side, and about two fingers of distance on the pass side. In the center, the bends in the swaybar appear to be slightly offset from the center of the rear to the pass side...
Think I need to readjust anything ? ...and if so, what specifically ?
The car tracks straight and seems to drive fine... Wheels are centered in the wheelwells. Driveshaft angle is at 0 and pinion is at -1, and I still have the torque arm in the lowest mounting hole on the crossmember... It didn't have any problems at all during break-in or with a few mid-throttle test launches so far. I want to go really test it out but I want to be sure everything is all 100% first. I also have a cruise coming up in a couple of weeks I'd like to take the car out to, so I want to be sure before taking it out on a long drive.
Thanks,
Rob (Bad30th)
the sway bar thing is pretty normal...you can just loosen the bolts that mount it to the rear and slide the bar over to even it out.
So far everything is rock solid, I couldn't be happier. I have about 500 miles on the new rear now. I went on a long 4 hour cruise this weekend with some local fbods and everything went perfect.
The whine on decel is about the same as before, barely noticeable and is actually yet another cool characteristic of my car - it makes lots of "unstock" noises with the blower, 4L80E and new rear... The little noises and whistles/growls are a sweet reminder of how unstock it is.

There is a slight vibration at highway speeds, but it's actually better than my old driveshaft/torque arm setup with the 10-bolt. I think my driveshaft was too short before by a little when I swapped to the 4L80E, so it actually improved.

I've put a couple of hard launches on the rear with Nittos and it squats and hauls ***, much better than my old setup and no fear of breaking 10-bolt parts !
I will be putting it back up on jackstands for a week or so to send my front brake caliper brackets out for powdercoat, and while it's down will be doing a little followup/checkup on the rear install and make some adjustments to the rear swaybar and torque arm.
Anyone thinking about getting one of these - do it, you will not regret it ! Big thanks to Eric @ MWC !

Cheers,

Rob (Bad30th)
