9" bearing order?

9" bearing order?

Gonna get the bearings pressed onto the axles sometime this week and want to make sure I get it right.

The timken bearings come with 3 parts for each side. What appears to be a seal, bearing, and thick metal ring.

How do these go together? I know as far as axle,backing plates, then is it seal, bearing, metal ring?

Backing plate ->> bearing ->> press ring ->> seal

Cool thanks. Whats the best way to get the inner seal in the housing?

I'm sure there is a specific tool for it...but I've seen some people use a big socket to hammer it in.

^^^ this isn't the case with the street bearing. the studs go 1st, backing plates 2nd, seal 3rd(cup facing splines, lip seal toward studs). 4th install the bearing with the small od side toward the seal and press it on. then press the wedding ring on last.
