12 bolt vs 9"

12 bolt vs 9" have 01 ss I'm modding to produce 420+ rwhp and thinking I should change rear end to 12 bolt or 9", pros and cons? I'm just street driving maybe a trip or 2 down the track. I have 410 motive gears in the box, an comments on them?

A 12 bolt is the same price as a 9".
Yes, the 9" is a little bit heavier than the 12 bolt, but the Moser 12 bolt takes 4 small bolts to hold the torque arm on and it is common to have problems with that.
You could go with a Strange 12 bolt, they use two long bolts for the torque arm like stock... but the wait time is a LOT longer. I think like 6 weeks for Strange.
When I ordered my Moser 9", it was on a Friday and the rearend was delivered on Thursday.

properly set up 12 bolt will hold twice that power but if u take it to the track on slicks or beat it hard on the street its gona whine like hell at least mines does and seems to be a common problem
