How tall of tire??

How tall of tire?? Okay i have a 1974 chevy stepside with 4.10 s in the GM 12 bolt. Well after i installed the gears years ago i decided to install an overdrive, the TH700r4. Well now the first gear is very low and traction sucked even with old engine i had in it. I am now building a supercharged 355 SBC to put in it. I should have around 500 to 550 RWH. I really dont want to change the gears because the gears and Auburn Pro Posi are very new. I am currently running 29x15.5x15 Mickey Thompsons Sportsmans and traction was terrible with the 400 hp engine. I did redo the pinion angle just in the last few weeks so i am sure that had alot to do with it. What size tire should i go with so i will rap out on the quarter at about 6000 rpm in third gear?? thanks alot in advance!!
