Default Which Rear for Auto-X/Handling

The question is which rear should i get that isnt going to upset the handling to much ? my car is daily driven and driven hard the majority of the time. it will see some autocross and some track time after i do the swap.

I say fabbed 9inch since with the aluminum center it can weigh less than a factory 10 bolt. Less unsprung weight is always nice. Only oyher rear I would consider is maybe a 12 bolt. S60 is definitly out as its a fat pig weight wise.

I'd personally be looking at the midwest chassis fabbed 9" with a true trac.

start adding up all the components to make the QP setup even close to the strength, weight, and value of the Midwest Chassis setup and you will find that the overall cost is not much different. the most costly part of the entire process is the center section, no matter whos rearend. I also include small things the others don't that make these great for autox/roadcourse cars as well. Watts link setup is available now even.

Heck after all these years autox/road race you can't beat the 10 bolt with a T2R Torsen differential. I've been doing this 10 years and haven't broke anything and I'm putting down 450HP. With autox/road race you don't launch the car so it's no big deal to the 10-bolt. The differential makes the difference; I also have a TA cover for the rear.

+ 2 on what Viper said, Can't beat a 10 bolt with a T2R, maybe put a pair of light weight rods in it and weld your tubes, for a track day or Auto-Xing hard to beat. Sure a fabed 9" might be lighter but it still soaks up HP, and cost big $ to get it that light, drilled rods, alum center etc,

Just got an email back from Strano, guess I wont be buying one of these for my DD...

"I have chosen to stop selling them after a rash of durability issues. I personally fried two within a year. We have a number of other options, but I no longer carry the T2R."

Took 10 days to be noticed, correct spelling must be a high priority on here.

At least I can spell CAMARO! (I'm not saying you can't, just saying I've seen worse!)
