Question What differential?

ok so the situation-purchasing 9" in very near future and need to decide on what differential. its a 02 SS M6, as of right now is driven alot on the street and sees its fair share of track time. i dont want a trailor queen. the car wont get slower only faster. was looking into the detroit true trac's but some people have told me to look at others... i need something that will hold abuse but still have some kind of friendly street manners.

-detroit true trac
-spool
-detroit locker

*ive looked into the new wave trac but thats a little out of my price range.

what do you guys think?

thanks

If most of your driving is rural and highway, I would go with a spool. Why?
The Truetrac may be too weak for you down the road.
The locker and a six speed apparently don't always work well together. I currently have a customer who has been having trouble shifting since he installed his locker. This is a first for me but he called Moser and they told him that this can happen. Apparently if you're at wide open throttle with a locker, gear changes are not a problem. Driving at part throttle is when the problem occurs. With the additional backlash inherit in a locker, I can see how this could happen. Bob

i have a spool in my 6 speed gto. i drive it all the time on the street as long as you remember you have a spool and don't try stupid fast turns you will be fine. with normal driving i only notice it when i am in a parking lot or anywhere that you need to take very sharp slow turn.

Do not go True Track for ANY type track use. Spool all the way for me, you will get mixed reviews how they have True Tracks with 600 hp and they have lived for 200 track passes. I'm sure this is true in many cases but since my TT has broken and I started searching I have found about 13 or so people in the same shape with 450hp or less. No track time go True Track, if you plan on going faster go Spool.
