I Am Going Crazy!! question:
I have a 2001 A4 Z28. The entire rear end was replaced with a rear end with 3.42 gears in it. I am still grinding in the granny gear (drive or reverse, less than 5mph). It is driving me crazy!!!
I am about to say hell with it and buy a whole new differential brand new. When shopping... I need to make sure that it has Posi, limited slip? Traction control, ABS etc etc? 10 bolt right?
Could someone respond back with specifics that I need when looking for a new diff? ie posi, limited slip, locking, trac control, abs etc etc??? 7 inch? 8.5 inch etc etc?? I am lost

It only grinds under 5mph???
I would jack up the rearend block the front wheels start it up and let it idle in first and see if you can see where its coming from, Rear ends tend to get louded under load and speed.

yeah... in reverse or drive in the lowest gear right when taking off. there is no sound when in neutral or park and revved. Onl when it is under load and sound goes away when it shifts out of that lowest gear....
