moser rear end fluid

i have a moser 12 bolt 4.10, i need to change the cover gasket, its leaking. my question is what fluid should i use and should i use the additive....i put the rear end 7 years ago and i do not remmenber what i used.... also does any one know of a really good 12 bolt gasket. thanks......

I do not have my old paperwork infront of me, but it was a NON syn I think 75w type oil. I'll do a search. Just throwing it out there.

It depends on the type of differential that's in there. That will determine what type of gear oil you use, and whether or not you need additive.

If you have a True Trac, which a good deal of Moser's have, do not put synthetic in there. 75w90 or something thereabouts will be fine.

As far as gaskets, I've always had good luck with the Fel-Pro gasket you can pick up at any local parts store.

Moser does not want you to use synthetic gear oil in any of their rears. 80/90 weight non synthetic gear oil is what is to be used. Bob

Would this Moser recomendation go with a spool as well? I just got my new ring/pinion from Jaws Motive gears and was wondering what oil to use. The rear is beyond comprehension noise levels as of now i'd like this new set to be as quiet as humanly possible.
